Lemon-Ginger Water

For a healthy start to your day!


Drinking water first thing in the morning helps hydrate and detox your body. Try to add lemon and ginger that not only enhance the flavor but also boost the immune system, help with digestion, and flush out the toxins that your liver was working on so hard eliminating at night.

Added bonus: have you noticed when you are hydrated, your skin is brighter? Plus the Vitamin C from the lemon helps produce collagen that will create a youthful and glowing look we are all after.

Tip: I like my lemon-ginger water warm in the morning because it's easier for me to drink it and it also flushes to toxins more easily. But if you prefer it cold, the health benefits are just as rewarding.

Tomorrow morning before you reach for your coffee pot, try a glass of lemon-ginger water. No worries, you can still get your coffee afterward!

Here is how to make it:

LEMON- GINGER WATER

  1. Squeeze the juice of one lemon. I prefer the lemon at room temperature as it will allow for the maximum juice amount.

  2. Grate some fresh ginger.

  3. Mix the ginger and lemon juice in a jar.

  4. Put half or a full teaspoon of lemon-ginger mixture into your glass of water. Mix and enjoy!

Tip: I do not have time to make this fresh every morning, so I create a batch and store the lemon-ginger mixture in a glass jar in the fridge. Every morning I just add a spoonful into my water.

You can also create lemon-ginger ice cubes by placing a teaspoonful of mixture into the ice cube tray, and once it's frozen, place them in a glass jar and store it in the freezer. Every morning just pop one lemon-ginger ice cube into your warm water.

Variation: You can create LEMON-GINGER-HONEY TEA to sip in the evening before going to bed. Add the lemon-ginger mixture along with a spoonful of honey into hot water and sip away.
